RKS Kalvi Nilayam offers State Board curriculum. Students are challenged to work hard and teachers ensure that academic rigour is maintained at all times. Our curriculum is self-motivated, progressive and inquiry driven. Teachers and coordinators observe and update the curriculum as per the curriculum review cycle. Teaching methodologies and class content are planned collaboratively on a regular basis using a reflective process to improve the learning experience of all students.

RKS Kalvi Nilayam has a curriculum that is fully customized to meet the individual needs, interests, and learning style of the student. We believe that children should be treated with respect and that the child’s self image is the most important part of the learning process. Children need to perceive themselves as worthwhile, capable and significant, and therefore their experiences should be positive and reinforcing. By allowing such experiences to occur, they will develop self-confidence and high self-esteem. It is also important that we as caregivers communicate acceptance and allow a child to develop a sense of belonging.

Children must be allowed to make mistakes. This is all part of the learning process. As a caregiver, it is our responsibility to listen and acknowledge children’s feelings and frustrations and to offer calm positive guidance when situations arise. Developmentally appropriate expectations and limits are set. One must remember to be firm, to be kind; but to look at what the “real” problem is. Under no circumstance do we physically or emotionally abuse a child.
